Cancun Prison Break: State Attorney Investigates Escape

A group of people, some wearing casual clothing and others in uniforms, gathered in a crowded indoor space with an overexposed background from light coming through the entrance.

In response to a recent prison break in Cancun, the State Attorney's Office has launched a thorough investigation. Led by Raciel López Salazar, the office is committed to identifying those responsible for the escape, which occurred on Saturday afternoon and has caused significant concern in the community.

The escaped inmate, known as Gilberto “N”, is facing serious charges, including premeditated murder, rape, and severe harm to two minors. Authorities are actively searching for him in the municipality and are committed to doing everything necessary to ensure his recapture.

During a tour of the prison, the Attorney General stated that any negligence or misconduct by the prison authorities would not be tolerated. "This incident has caused significant harm to our society, and we are dedicated to resolving it," López Salazar stated.

As part of the investigation, the Attorney General also inspected the prison's surveillance system and several areas of the facility to gather evidence for the case.
