The Prosecutor's Office in Quintana Roo has reported the arrest of Joaquín Ramón 'N', suspected leader of a recently dismantled drug ring. The group, implicated in several murders in the southern region, was taken down with the arrest of 11 members.
The arrest was made possible through collaboration with the FGE in Campeche, who enforced an arrest warrant issued by a Control Judge. The suspect is now in the custody of FGE Quintana Roo.
The arrest of Joaquín Ramón 'N' has led to the breakdown of the criminal gang he allegedly led. On April 24 and 26 of this year, 11 individuals were arrested in the city of Chetumal. They were found in possession of firearms, mobile devices, various potential narcotic substances, vehicles, live ammunition, uniforms, and tactical equipment, among other items.
Investigations and analysis suggest that the individuals under investigation may be involved in at least three murders and one attempted murder in the state capital. One such incident occurred in the Flamingos subdivision, where a teenager was killed and a Municipal Police officer was injured.
Following the execution of the arrest warrant against Joaquín Ramón 'N', officers from the Investigation Police, assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Homicide Crime Combat, transported the arrested individual to the city of Chetumal. After necessary examinations, he was handed over to the appropriate authority.
