Two suspects believed to be involved in a shooting at a journalist's home on the island of Cozumel have been arrested. The incident took place in the early hours of September 24th. The suspects, identified as Roberto Alexander “N” and Carlos Sebastián “N”, were apprehended while riding a motorcycle on Transversal Avenue, near 85th Street.

During their arrest, a handgun and the motorcycle they were using were seized. These will be added to the investigation into the attack and threats made against Silvia Peraza, a journalist from the Código Rojo media outlet. Authorities were able to identify the suspects' vehicle through a combination of investigative work and surveillance footage.

Police officers in Cozumel, while conducting surveillance, noticed a motorcycle matching the description of the suspects' vehicle speeding along Transversal Avenue. They signaled for the occupants to stop, but one of the suspects attempted to flee, firing at an officer in the process. The officer returned fire, injuring one of the suspects, who was then taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is reported as stable.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects are part of a criminal group operating on the island of Cozumel. They now face charges related to the attack on Silvia Peraza's home. Peraza had previously received threats in relation to her work on a complaint filed by a local citizen.
