The Cancun Bicentennial Rotary Club is hosting a charity event called "Swim for a Cause". The event features a challenging open water swim by Rotary member Scarlet Hernández, who will be swimming from Cancun to Isla Mujeres.

The goal of the event is to raise 15,000 pesos for "A Human Caress", a shelter based in Campeche. This shelter provides essential support such as accommodation and meals to cancer patients and their families who have travelled to Campeche for treatment. Often, these individuals do not have a place to stay or enough food to eat.

In addition to fundraising, the event also includes a physical challenge. Scarlet Hernández will swim a distance of approximately 10 kilometers from Playa Caracol to Isla Mujeres.

The event will be broadcast live on the Cancun Bicentennial Rotary Club's official Facebook page. Tune in on Sunday, May 19, at 7:30 AM local time in Quintana Roo to support this worthy cause and cheer on Scarlet in her ambitious swim.
