A taxi driver was recently arrested in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood of Playa Del Carmen by the Municipal Police of Solidaridad for suspected drug possession. The arrest occurred during a routine surveillance patrol on Avenue 40.

The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Iván “N”, was spotted by the Preventive Police handling what appeared to be illegal narcotics before attempting to get into his Nissan Sentra taxi, affiliated with the "Lázaro Cárdenas del Río" union.

Before he could escape in his vehicle, officers intervened, blocking his path and conducting a security inspection. During the search, they discovered two packages suspected to contain marijuana, one package believed to be crystal meth, and six packages of a white powder resembling cocaine.

Following the discovery, Iván “N”, a local resident, was detained and handed over to the State Attorney General's Office for further legal proceedings.
