Yensunni Idalia Martinez Hernandez Wins by 777 Votes

Four individuals participate in a session at the Tribunal Electoral de Quintana Roo - two sitting behind a desk, one presiding, and another speaking with paperwork in hand.

The Electoral Tribunal of Quintana Roo (TEQROO) has unanimously ratified the election results for the Othón P. Blanco City Council. They confirmed the victory of Yensunni Idalia Martínez Hernández, who led the winning slate nominated by the "Let's Keep Making History in Quintana Roo" Coalition. Yensunni's team secured a lead of 777 votes over the runner-up.

The validation was part of the resolution process for the Nullity Trial JUN/010 and its associated JUN/011/2024. These were filed by the Morena and Movimiento Ciudadano Political Parties. They contested the municipal count results of the Othón P. Blanco City Council election and requested the annulment of several polling stations.

The challenging parties cited multiple causes for nullity of votes received at the polling stations. These were related to sections I, IV, V, IX, X, and XII of Article 82 of the Law of Means of Contestation in Electoral Matters for the state of Quintana Roo.

In response, the Plenary confirmed the contested polling stations and nullified the votes received at polling station 377 C1. This decision was based on section X of Article 82 of the Law of Means, which was updated due to reported pressure on the polling station board and other voters in the vicinity. Despite this modification to the municipal count, the overall election result remained unchanged.

In the same public session, the Plenary also unanimously voted to dismiss the allegations made by the Morena Political Party against citizen Nellyadi Anaiza Quian Medina. Similarly, they rejected accusations against the PRI and PAN parties, as well as various media outlets, in the Special Sanctioning Procedure PES/117/2024.
