Discover the Luxurious Oasis at Riviera Maya Edition!

A lush garden with a wooden pergola covered in various green vines and flowers, featuring a pathway lined with flowering plants and ferns under the shaded structure.

Nestled in the heart of the new luxury resort Kanai, in Riviera Maya, The Riviera Maya Edition at Kanai emerges from a mangrove forest. This resort combines avant-garde architecture, the ancient culture of the peninsula, and exquisite cuisine, all wrapped in exclusivity. Let's explore this peaceful and stylish oasis in the Mexican Caribbean!

The Riviera Maya Edition at Kanai is a cutting-edge space. The architecture and design of the hotel, the first resort of this luxury brand in Latin America, draw inspiration from the ancient Mayas' concept of the universe. Each space harmonizes with its surroundings and the ancestral culture that still thrives in the Yucatan Peninsula.

The Ian Schrager Company, in collaboration with the Rockwell Group and Edmonds International, has successfully highlighted the natural richness of the region and the Maya worldview. They've achieved this through neutral tones, wood, lush vegetation, and curves. The resort's three main buildings are architectural interpretations of a cenote.

What might be ordinary hallways in other hotels become extraordinary experiences here, linking the 182 rooms. The architecture plays with scale and dimensions, as well as light and shadows. As you walk along, you'll marvel at how the walls increase and decrease, curve and straighten, leading to different corners.

In addition to being an architectural paradise, The Riviera Maya Edition at Kanai is a gastronomic oasis with three restaurants led by renowned chefs Francisco Ruano from Alcalde and Tomás Bermúdez from La Docena.

The resort's flagship restaurant, Ki'is (which means "effervescence" in Maya), serves a seven-course meal inspired by the sea and the flavors and ingredients of the peninsula. Chef Francisco Ruano describes it as the same concept as Alcalde, but with a beachy twist.

Chef Ruano also heads Kitchen, which serves very Mexican breakfasts with contemporary touches. A must-try dish is the cochinita pibil accompanied by a spicy habanero sauce. The restaurant's lobby features an exhibition of 80 black and white photos from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, taken by famous Mexican cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa.

By the sea, you'll find So'ol (which means "oyster" in Maya), led by chef Tomás Bermúdez. It offers cuisine reminiscent of a Mediterranean beach club with a Mexican influence. Located next to the beach, So'ol serves seafood inspired by the south of France and the eastern Mediterranean, with a focus on oysters, clams, aguachiles, and raw fish from the best Mexican seas. The melon clam is a delicacy.

The Riviera Maya Edition at Kanai also offers wellness activities and ancestral ceremonies. These experiences take place in a huge, undulating bamboo structure designed by Eduardo Neira, which seems to transform as the hours pass.
