The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) has successfully apprehended a third suspect, Didi Marino "N", in connection to a million-dollar robbery that took place on November 10, 2023, in the Carrilloportense locality of Chumpón.
According to the investigation, Didi Marino "N" and several accomplices allegedly broke into a house in the community and attempted to intimidate the homeowners into handing over their money. Despite the victims' refusal, the robbers searched the property and found a safe containing one million pesos and two buckets holding an additional 16 million pesos.
After seizing the money, the group reportedly fled the scene in a white van. However, they soon lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the underbrush.
Following the incident, a complaint was filed and an arrest warrant was issued by the Control Judge. This led to the capture of Didi Marino "N" on the streets of the Villas del Sol subdivision in Playa del Carmen. He has been handed over to the relevant authorities, who will determine his legal status.
This latest arrest marks the third individual apprehended in connection to the robbery, which totaled 17 million pesos. In November 2023, two other suspects, Fabián "N" and Miguel Ángel "N", were arrested, with authorities recovering 1.2 million pesos. This recovered amount was subsequently handed over to the authorities of the Ejidal Commissary.
