The State Attorney General's Office has announced the arrest of three taxi drivers, who were identified through a social media video. The footage showed the men intimidating a tourist and forcing him to cancel a digital service. The arrested individuals, Alberto Daniel "N", José Alberto "N", and Brayan "N", are members of the "César Martín Rosado" Taxi Union in Puerto Morelos. Their vehicles were seized at the time of arrest.
Substances resembling drugs were found on Alberto Daniel "N" during the arrest, leading to his case being referred to the Public Ministry of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Combating Drug Dealing Crimes in the County of Solidaridad. José Alberto "N" and Brayan "N" are currently in custody, awaiting a decision on their legal status.
Following these incidents, the State Attorney General's Office has requested the Quintana Roo State Mobility Institute to revoke the concessions of the involved taxi units and the driving licenses of the individuals under investigation.
Raciel López Salazar, the head of the State Attorney General's Office, has urged all public transport providers in the state to respect public spaces and provide their services in an orderly manner. He emphasized that actions that jeopardize the safety of local users and visitors, both national and international, will not be tolerated in Quintana Roo.
