A truck driver was injured in a rollover accident on the Cenotes Route in Puerto Morelos on Tuesday. The man was driving his stake bed truck when the accident occurred around 6:00 am.
The driver, operating a Nissan truck with license plate SZ-336-1N, lost control of the vehicle on a bend in the road. The truck rolled over into the brush, coming to rest about 50 meters from the roadway.
Initial reports suggest that excessive speed may have been a significant factor in the accident. The driver, 25-year-old Francisco Javier A.R., was treated by paramedics at the scene before being transported to a hospital for further medical evaluation.
Traffic and Fire Department personnel responded to the accident, conducting rescue operations and securing the area. The truck, which sustained substantial damage, was later towed to an impound lot.
Traffic authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits, particularly in areas with sharp turns.
