Tulum Car Crash Highlights Drunk Driving Risks

A white sedan with significant damage to the passenger side doors, parked on a concrete street near street vendors and pedestrians during daylight.

A car accident at the intersection of Venus and Osiris streets in downtown Tulum has underscored the dangers of drunk driving. The crash reportedly occurred when a driver, suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, failed to stop at a mandatory stop sign on Venus street, resulting in a collision with another vehicle.

The incident took place around 9:00 in the morning. The intoxicated driver reportedly ran the stop sign, leading to a collision with another car that had the right of way. Traffic and public safety officers responded to the scene, securing the area and assessing both drivers on site.

As we move into a new year, Tulum is expected to ramp up road surveillance operations. The aim is to prevent similar incidents and foster a stronger culture of respect and safety on the streets.
