In Tulum, Quintana Roo, a significant initiative is underway to address mental health and suicide prevention among the region's youth. This effort is a collaboration between the Municipality of Tulum, the General Directorate of Wellness, DIF Tulum, and the Municipal Health Directorate.

The initiative involves a talk called "Breaking the Silence," which was recently held at the Akumal Telebaccalaureate. The event was led by Teresa Miriam López Granillo and psychologist Yara Noemí Aguilar Hernández. Their primary aim is to reduce depression and suicide rates among young people by promoting self-awareness and self-appreciation.

The talk emphasizes the importance of mental health and emotional well-being, equipping students with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate challenging situations. The goal is to create a safe environment where young people can express their concerns and receive the necessary support. This approach contributes to a healthier, more aware school environment, attuned to the issues affecting today's youth.

This initiative reaffirms the local government's commitment to the well-being of its community. It underscores the importance of promoting mental health and preventing self-destructive behaviors among the youth of Tulum.
