A taxi driver, a member of the Caribbean Sharks Union, was tragically killed, and his vehicle was set on fire near the turnoff to the Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport. Reports suggest that the vehicle, used for public transportation, was set ablaze following the fatal shooting of its driver. The incident occurred at midnight on Thursday.
Emergency services from the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of a burning vehicle on Federal Highway 307, at the Muyil-Airport junction. Upon their arrival, they confirmed that the vehicle was a taxi belonging to the Caribbean Sharks Union. Inside, they found the deceased driver, who showed signs of being killed at the scene.
The State Attorney General's Office has since collected the body and initiated an investigation into the incident. It's important to note that this is the third taxi driver from the Caribbean Sharks Union to be killed in September.
