Two men were apprehended in the Noh Bec precinct of the Maya Zone, found in possession of two firearms, ammunition, and reportedly over 100 thousand pesos in cash. The arrest occurred after one of the men's fathers reported his son for being armed.
The arrest took place during a police operation initiated in response to the father's complaint. According to the Municipal Police, the men were outside a Tahoe van when they were intercepted by officers from the state's Citizen Security Secretariat.
The report states that the father had informed the authorities that his son was inebriated at the "Alma Grande" bar and had returned home earlier to retrieve a firearm.
Upon locating the men and conducting a search, the police discovered two handguns, one loaded with 10 rounds and the other with five. They also found two magazines with nine rounds each, two mobile phones, and purportedly, 105,550 pesos in cash.
Following their arrest, the men were handed over to the Public Prosecutor. They will soon be presented before a control judge who will determine their legal status.
