On October 16 in Playa del Carmen, officials from the Quintana Roo Prosecution Office and the Solidaridad Municipal Police arrested two individuals in connection with a femicide believed to be linked to drug dealing.
The State Prosecutor's Office announced that Erisai "N" and Leydi Yusim "N" were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the femicide, which took place on October 14 at a residence on North 40 avenue in the city center.
Preliminary field, cabinet, and technological investigations conducted by the Prosecutor's Office, which specializes in femicide cases, suggest that the victim was involved in drug dealing. It's alleged that the victim was abducted, taken to the aforementioned location, and subsequently killed. Her body was then reportedly placed into plastic bags, transported by vehicle, and left on the street.
Surveillance footage helped officials track the vehicle's route, leading to the arrest of the two individuals believed to be involved in the femicide.
Following the completion of necessary procedures, the two suspects were handed over to the Public Prosecutor's Office. Their legal status will be determined within the constitutionally established timeframe.
