Two dismembered bodies were discovered in separate locations in the city of Tulum early on Monday, January 20. The bodies were reportedly left by criminal gangs, causing fear to ripple through the local population as news of the gruesome finds spread.

The first body, a man's, was found at the Pino Suarez community stop, located 21 kilometers away from the city center. Local passengers from a public transportation van noticed black bags and a blanket with a message on it, prompting them to call emergency services. Upon arrival, police confirmed the report and cordoned off the area, awaiting the arrival of the State General Prosecutor's Office to begin proceedings.

While investigations into the first case were underway, another call came in from the vicinity of Rotarios park in the city. Here, workers discovered human remains left next to a garbage container on Neptuno Oriente street, adjacent to the park. The body, also a man's, was dismembered in a similar manner to the first.

Authorities from the State General Prosecutor's Office removed the bodies and began collecting evidence to identify the victims. The men had been discarded in dumpsters, a chilling reminder of the violent criminal activity in the area.
