Men Arrested for Aggravated Extortion in Cancun

Two men in Cancun have been implicated in a legal case due to their alleged involvement in an aggravated extortion crime. The victim, who remains anonymous for their protection, has reportedly been subjected to significant distress. As a result of the charges, the accused are set to spend two years in prison.

The suspects, identified as Julio Cesar "N" and Brayan Jair "N", were linked to incidents that occurred in mid-July 2023. They are accused of threatening the victim in a commercial establishment on Kukulcan Boulevard, where they allegedly demanded a weekly "protection fee" of around five thousand pesos.

On April 10th of the same year, the accused reportedly revisited the victim's business in Cancun. They are said to have insisted on the continued payment of the aforementioned sum, threatening consequences for employees or anyone present at the establishment if the demand was not met.

After considering the evidence and leads provided, the judge decided to proceed with the charges against Julio Cesar "N" and Brayan Jair "N". The charges relate to their alleged involvement in the crime of aggravated extortion. Consequently, they have been sentenced to two years of preventative imprisonment.
