The "Oaxaca and the Guelaguetza" Expo Sale is set to take place in the state capital from today until January 26. The event will feature more than 50 exhibitors and over a hundred artists on stage.
The details of the event were announced at a press conference this morning. Rubén Martínez Carrillo, the director of municipal culture, stated that this cultural and gastronomic event will be held in the Alameda park, adjacent to the Municipal Palace, from 9 in the morning until 10 at night.
Carrillo emphasized that the event will serve as a platform for the presentation of the Guelaguetza, a cultural heritage of humanity as recognized by UNESCO.
Alberto Vázquez, a craftsman and one of the organizers, stressed the involvement of the cultural group "Oaxaca, Art, Festival and Tradition". This group will showcase the culture of the state of Oaxaca through traditional dances and songs.
Vázquez expressed his hope that residents of Chetumal, people from Belize, and other municipalities will come to enjoy this outdoor event. He emphasized that the event is family-friendly and that a space filled with culture is a space free from violence.
