Shocking Arrests in Yucatan Double Homicide

Two men, one from Chetumal and the other from Mexico City, have been arrested in connection with a double homicide in Oxkutzcab, Yucatan. The arrests were made following the discovery of two bodies on the outskirts of the Chumul Fruit Unit, located on the Oxkutzcab-Mani highway, on July 17th.

The suspects, Manuel Concepcion C. C., a farmer from Chetumal, Quintana Roo, and Paulino R. N., a ranch caretaker from Mexico City, aged 44 and 60 respectively, are believed to have committed the murders on the night of July 16th. There is a reported familial connection between the victims and the accused, with ongoing disputes stemming from a previous theft.

Investigations into the incident led authorities to believe that the suspects were likely responsible for the double murder. Evidence suggests that on the night of the 16th, the suspects arrived at the Mani locality in a compact car, located the victims, forced them into the vehicle, and drove them to the location where they were killed. One suspect was armed with a firearm, the other with a machete, which were used in the murders. Both men have since been handed over to a control judge who ordered their arrests.
