Mexico Wins 2 Silvers at 2025 World Diving Championships

Canada — At the conclusion of the 2025 World Aquatics Diving Championships, Mexico secured two silver medals in synchronized events, propelling the nation to third place in the overall medal standings, behind only China and Great Britain.

Osmar Olvera and Juan Manuel Celaya Claim Silver in 3m Synchronized Springboard

The duo of Osmar Olvera and Juan Manuel Celaya earned Mexico’s first silver medal in the men’s synchronized 3-meter springboard final, scoring a total of 381.72 points. They finished just behind China’s Jiuyuan Zheng and Yukang Hu, who took gold with 388.05 points. The bronze medal went to the United States team of Jack Ryan and Quentin Henninger, who scored 374.73 points.

Gabriela Agúndez and Alejandra Estudillo Secure Silver in 10m Synchronized Platform

In the women’s synchronized 10-meter platform final, Gabriela Agúndez and Alejandra Estudillo delivered another strong performance, securing silver with 291.90 points. The Chinese pair of Wei Lu and Minjie Zhang dominated the event with 327.36 points, while Great Britain’s Lois Toulson and Maisie Bond claimed bronze with 275.16 points.

Mexico Finishes Third in Medal Standings

With these results, Mexico concluded its participation in the second leg of the 2025 World Aquatics Diving World Cup with three additional silver medals. Combined with the six medals (two gold and four silver) earned in the first leg held in Guadalajara, Mexico solidified its position as a top contender in international diving.

The competition highlighted Mexico’s growing prominence in the sport, with divers consistently delivering podium-worthy performances against elite global competition.
