Two individuals, one of them a minor, have been apprehended less than 48 hours after a deadly armed attack in the Santa Cecilia colony of Cancun. The incident, which took place on November 30, resulted in the loss of four male lives. The State Prosecutor's Office announced the arrests, stating that the suspects are believed to be involved in the crime.

During the arrest, the Investigation Police of the FGE, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSyPC), Secretary of the Navy, Secretary of National Defense, National Guard, National Anti-Kidnapping Commission (Conase), and Secretary of Citizen Security were able to seize a 9mm caliber firearm. This weapon is believed to be connected to the murders.

In addition to the firearm, the investigators also found several doses of substances resembling drugs on the suspects. Both the suspects and the evidence have been handed over to the Public Ministry, who will decide their legal status within the constitutional time frame.

It is important to note that the motive for two of the deaths was related to drug trafficking crimes. The other two victims, who were brothers, were unfortunately caught in the crossfire while at a snack bar where the incident took place.

The FGE of Quintana Roo remains committed to ensuring zero impunity for criminals and bringing those who break the law to justice.
