Uber recently marked its eight-year anniversary of operating in Yucatan. The ride-sharing platform has been functioning smoothly in the region, and plans to launch new services in the coming month. These services include car rental, pet-friendly travel, and advanced booking options.

The new car rental service, Uber Rent, is a collaboration with partner companies. Users can specify their destination, time, date, rental duration, and vehicle type. This service was recently introduced in other cities and has now made its way to Yucatan.

Uber Pet is another upcoming service. This feature allows users to travel with their pets, including cats, dogs, and even exotic animals. The conditions of travel for pets must be discussed and agreed upon with the driver in advance.

Uber Reserve is a service that allows users to book their rides up to 90 days in advance. This is particularly useful for users with a set schedule or itinerary, and can even be coordinated with flight schedules for more organized planning.

Uber Rent is designed to provide a solution for areas with limited transportation options or for those who prefer more privacy during their travels. These new features aim to adapt to consumer needs, much like Uber Eats has done.

In its nearly 11 years of operation in Mexico, Uber has completed over 100 million trips and delivered eight million food and other products to homes in the state. This makes Mexico the fifth most important market for Uber globally.

This year, Uber plans to focus on promoting mobility, particularly in the tourism sector. In Yucatan, there are over 400 registered businesses, including global chains and small restaurants, offering more than 25 types of international cuisine.

Uber has reported no conflicts with local taxis in Yucatan, unlike in other Mexican states. Esteban Illiades, the company's communication manager, encourages taxi operators to consider joining the Uber platform to explore its benefits.

Illiades believes that traditional taxis and app-based services like Uber can coexist peacefully. He stated that everyone can find their niche and generate profits in a way that suits them best. The only recent issue Uber has encountered is gaining access to federal airport areas across Mexico, but Illiades assured that they are working towards a resolution.
