A video has emerged on social media showing an attack on an Uber driver by taxi drivers at Cancún International Airport on May 17th. Although the attackers' faces are not visible in the minute-long video, the damage inflicted on the car and the verbal abuse hurled at the driver are clearly audible.

The Uber driver, identified as Domingo, reported that the attack occurred when he was dropping off passengers at the airport. Shortly after his passengers exited the vehicle, a man began inspecting the car's license plates and signaling to someone else. A second man then approached and started photographing the car.

As Domingo attempted to drive away, an unseen individual struck the vehicle and demanded that he exit the car. The assault continued as Domingo tried to escape, resulting in several broken windows on his vehicle. Following the attack, Domingo reported the incident to the State Prosecutor's Office, where it was officially recorded under the file number "FGE/QROO/BJ/05/9776/2024".

This incident was one of two attacks on Uber drivers by taxi drivers in the city within the same week. In a separate incident, taxi drivers from the "Andrés Quintana Roo" union were reported for vandalizing an Uber vehicle outside the City Express hotel, located opposite Moon Palace. The driver managed to film the assailants as they smashed the right-side window of his Subaru.
