Sergio Perez faces a cloud of uncertainty regarding his future with Red Bull for F1 2025. Carlos Slim Domit, president and co-founder of Escuderia Telmex, has stated that it's not guaranteed the company will continue as Red Bull sponsors in the future. However, he assures that their support for Perez will remain, regardless of his status with Red Bull.

Carlos Slim Domit, son of billionaire Carlos Slim, emphasizes that their backing of Perez is separate from their Red Bull sponsorship. Therefore, their support for the team does not hinge on whether Perez continues with them or not.

The Slims established Escuderia Telmex to help Latin American drivers achieve their motorsport dreams. Perez has been their most successful driver, garnering significant global recognition. However, Red Bull's recent announcement of a multi-year extension and expansion with telecom company AT&T, a direct competitor of Telmex in Mexico, has cast doubt on Telmex's future as team sponsors. Despite this, negotiations with Red Bull are still ongoing.

Slim Domit clarified that their support for Perez would continue, even if he decides to leave Red Bull. This is consistent with their past actions of supporting drivers when they switched teams.

Slim Domit told ESPN in Mexico City, "We are in talks with the team, nothing is final yet. But one thing is certain, we will continue to support Checo. We will stand by him as much as possible. Checo’s contract and our sponsorship are separate issues for us. This has always been the case since he joined the team. If the opportunity to continue with the team does not arise, we will definitely continue with Checo. Our aim is to support Checo, no matter where he ends up."
