On the upcoming Sunday, November 10, an athletic competition will take place at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Hotel, located in the municipality of Solidaridad. The main running distances will be 10 and 5 kilometers, with an additional 2.5 km family walk.
The sports promoter, MotionEvents, unveiled the details of the "VII We Run Sirenis Race" on Thursday morning at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Hotel. The race is scheduled to start at seven in the morning on Sunday, November 10. The proceeds from the race will go towards supporting the City of Joy Foundation, a charity that provides resources for senior citizens.
The race will be held in the community of Akumal, within the municipality of Solidaridad. Alberto López Castro, the director of the Municipal Sports Institute of Quintana Roo, was present at the press conference to discuss the event.
Armando Macías, the technical director of MotionEvents, explained the specifics of the competition. He was joined by Carlos Batani, the resident director of the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya, and Felipe Vargas, the director of Marketing.
The "VII We Run Sirenis 2024" will feature both ten and five kilometer races. These races will be divided into three age categories: Free (13 to 29 years of age), Masters (30 to 49), and Veterans (50 years and older). There will also be a 2.5 kilometer family walk, as well as children's events of 500 meters for ages 4-7 and one kilometer for those aged 8-12.
To wrap up the press conference, the organizers announced that registrations for the race can be made online, through the social media platforms of the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Hotel and MotionEvents.
