A woman was killed and a man was injured in a shooting in Region 229 of Cancún. The incident occurred when an armed intruder entered a residence on 74th Street, just one block from Niños Héros Avenue. The attack took place around 9 PM.
The woman was killed instantly in the gunfire, while the man sustained a gunshot wound to his back. Local police quickly secured the area and the injured man was rushed to the General Hospital of Cancún.
Investigators from the State Attorney General's Office were dispatched to the scene to gather evidence and oversee the removal of the deceased woman's body.
In a separate incident, two young men were fatally shot in the Corales subdivision of Cancún. The victims were ambushed in a residential building's parking lot, located on 37th Street and Chabacano. Despite the presence of local police and the National Guard, the assailants managed to flee the scene.
Red Cross paramedics arrived and confirmed the double homicide. The area was subsequently cordoned off to allow for the State Attorney General's Office to conduct their investigation.
