The "Vivam" app has been launched with the aim of promoting various tourist sites in Mexico, including the Island of Cozumel. The app is designed to help travelers find attractions and businesses to offer their services. This initiative is part of the Municipality Government's strategy, led by Juanita Alonso Marrufo, to enhance and promote tourism in the Quintana Roo destination.
Ociel González Gonzalez, the general secretary representing the municipality president, Juanita Alonso Marrufo, stated that projects like these contribute to community growth. He emphasized that this digital tool is not only a platform for Cozumel but for all of Mexico, enabling visitors to discover various attractions, services, and support available. He expressed his pleasure at the app's contribution to the island's promotional efforts, citing its potential for success and its value to travelers and tourism-focused businesses.
Ángela Carrillo Chulin, the first municipal councilor and president of the Tourism Commission, explained that the app's primary goal is to promote tourism in the destination. The app is built on four pillars to integrate and globally promote all tourism products. It also supports micro-entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs by providing visibility through this tool and promoting all tourism products. The ultimate goal is to encourage more overnight stays on the island, allowing visitors to fully experience this Magic Town.
The app's developers, Joel Martínez Castillo, Josué Morales Solís, and Pedro Espinosa Sierra, explained that "Vivam" is an acronym for the popular phrase "Viva México". The app has two streams, one for tourists and the other for businesses. It features four categories: “nature”, “culture”, “relaxation”, and “events”.
A key feature of the app, now available on the App Store and Play Store, is the “tour bus” service. This service mimics the experience of traveling on a guided bus tour, notifying users about nearby points of interest and providing information about the site's history and significance.
