Volaris, a leading Mexican low-cost airline, has announced a new international route from Cancun, Quintana Roo to McAllen, Texas. This new route strengthens the airline's operations and expands its range of destinations between the two countries.

The announcement was made at an event held at McAllen Airport, where Volaris' Sales and Market Development Manager for the United States, Fernanda Pereda, performed the ribbon cutting. She was joined by local authorities and special guests. Pereda expressed gratitude for the support received from the authorities and the McAllen airport, noting that this new route reinforces Volaris' role as a key connector of Latin communities with their loved ones in Mexico. The route will also make it easier for American travelers to access major Mexican tourist destinations like Cancun.

The new Cancun-McAllen route will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, providing direct connectivity between two strategic points. This will boost tourism and business development in both countries. Volaris highlighted that residents of McAllen will benefit from competitive prices for travel to Cancun, a top tourist destination in Latin America known for its white sand beaches and turquoise waters. The new route will not only increase tourist flow between the two cities, but also enhance trade and cultural ties.

Bernardo Cueto, Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo, commented that the new flight is a significant step towards providing travelers with convenient and accessible options. He also mentioned that this launch aligns with the new era of tourism promoted by Governor Mara Lezama, who has been actively fostering growth in the tourism sector.

Javier Villalobos, the mayor of McAllen, expressed that the non-stop service to Cancun opens a world of leisure and business opportunities. He noted that, thanks to Volaris, residents can now enjoy direct flights to Cancun, making travel more efficient and enjoyable.

Volaris also pointed out that Mexican tourists traveling to McAllen will be able to enjoy the city's exceptional hospitality and services. Known for its numerous outlets and discount stores, McAllen offers visitors access to high-quality products and amenities. It also boasts tourist attractions like the International Museum of Art and Science (IMAS) and the Performing Arts Center, offering a range of cultural experiences from classical music to theater, opera, and ballet.
