The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has issued a warning about the potential development of several disturbances in the Atlantic into cyclonic systems. The disturbance closest to the coasts of Quintana Roo is a tropical wave located hundreds of miles east of the Lesser Antilles. This system is currently producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
The NHC forecasts that this disturbance will move westward, reaching the Lesser Antilles by Monday. Following this, the environmental conditions seem favorable for the gradual development of this system. There is a possibility that a tropical depression could form as it continues to move westward across the Caribbean Sea during the middle and end of the week.
In addition, the NHC has also issued a warning about another tropical wave located just west of the Cape Verde Islands. This system is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. If any development is to occur, it is likely to be slow. The system is expected to move from west to west-northwest over the eastern and central tropical Atlantic by the end of next week.
