As summer approaches, many are already planning their winter escapes from the chilly weather in Calgary. WestJet, a Calgary-based airline, has recently announced a series of new flights for this year, providing more options for Canadians looking to travel to popular destinations. Starting November 9, WestJet will offer weekly flights from Calgary to the newly opened Tulum airport in Mexico.
Other Canadian cities including Toronto, Kelowna, and Winnipeg will also benefit from new flight routes to sun-soaked destinations.
John Weatherill, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of WestJet Group, said, "By expanding our flight offerings, WestJet Group solidifies its position as Canada's leading leisure airline. This winter, we will provide more seating capacity to Surya destinations than any other airline."
For those based in Toronto, WestJet will offer more frequent flights to Tulum, with three flights per week starting in November.
In addition to Mexico, WestJet is also expanding its reach to the Caribbean. Starting November 3, the airline will introduce a weekly flight to Grenada. "This new route broadens access to Grenada for Canadians, inviting them to experience the vibrant culture, untouched beaches, and lush landscapes of the Spice Island," said Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority.
For Canadians outside of Toronto looking to explore exotic destinations, WestJet offers well-timed connecting flights to help them reach these sunny locales.
