SHOCKING: Woman Charged with Exploiting Teens in Cancún!

A woman, known as Mónica “N”, has been charged with alleged involvement in the labor exploitation of four teenagers in Cancún, according to the State Attorney General's Office. The minors were found in deplorable conditions in the Benito Juárez municipality's Supermanzana 231 district.

The teenagers, all originally from Chiapas, were lured to Cancún with the promise of employment, with a weekly wage of two thousand pesos. Upon arrival, they were forced to work grueling 16-hour shifts in tortilla shops, under constant surveillance and threat of punishment.

The situation escalated when the minors expressed a desire to return home. They were subsequently locked on a building's rooftop and denied food for over 24 hours. After managing to ask for help, they were rescued by the Specialized Group in Attention to Family and Gender Violence (Geavig).

Following an investigation by the Special Prosecutor's Office for Combating Crimes of Trafficking and Exploitation of Girls, Boys, and Teenagers, a Control Judge linked Mónica “N” to the case. She has been placed in preventative detention for two years while the case proceeds.

The rescued teenagers have since been returned to their parents, who had not heard from them since the beginning of the year.
