Fatal Accident in Cancún: Woman Killed as Bus Runs Red Light

A young woman tragically lost her life in a traffic accident at the intersection of Chac Mool and Route 5 avenues, in Cancún's 100th region. The collision involved a bus from the Autocar company and a private gray car. Both drivers initially claimed they had a green light at the time of the accident.

However, surveillance footage later revealed that the bus had actually run a red light. Following the incident, witnesses quickly contacted emergency services via the 911 line, requesting immediate medical and police assistance.

Tragically, paramedics at the scene confirmed the young woman, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, had died as a result of the accident. The driver of the compact car was subsequently transported to a hospital in the 509th region for treatment.

In the aftermath of the accident, the bus driver was arrested at the scene. He is expected to face the Public Ministry, where his responsibilities in the accident will be determined.
