A woman was hit by a car as she attempted to cross Playa del Carmen Boulevard. The driver, who was reportedly speeding, struck the woman, causing her to fall onto the pavement. She was immediately attended to by paramedics and rushed to a nearby hospital.

The incident occurred yesterday morning near the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río taxi drivers' union. A Versa vehicle, traveling north, collided with the woman who was crossing the road without taking proper precautions.

The driver of the Nissan, a 24-year-old named Brian from Jalisco, was allegedly speeding at the time of the accident. The pedestrian, identified as Deysi, was severely injured from the impact.

Workers from the nearby Xcaret hotel, who were arriving for their shift, assisted the injured woman and called for an ambulance using the 911 emergency number.

Red Cross paramedics arrived on the scene and transported Deysi to the General Hospital. The car involved in the accident was towed to an impound lot and the driver was taken into custody. The local traffic authorities are currently determining the driver's responsibility in the incident.
