Landslide Risk for Mayan Train: Derailment Danger in Section 4
A video has surfaced on social media showing a sinkhole in Section 4 of the Mayan Train route. The sinkhole appears to be expanding under the weight of the train, and the vibrations from the train's movement are exacerbating the problem. This has raised concerns about the risk of a derailment, which could potentially result in the loss of many lives.
The video also includes a warning to Mexicans considering using the Mayan Train: "Think carefully about whether a ride is worth risking your life or the lives of your family." This is the latest in a series of complaints about the train's safety.
Similar concerns have been raised about Section 5 of the route. There, it's been reported that the support columns are being filled with rocks and that concrete is leaking into the water of the cenotes. This could potentially destabilize the structure, adding to the overall safety concerns of the Mayan Train.
