The Xcaret Group, a major player in the tourism sector, has announced plans to hire 2,200 new employees. This move will increase the company's workforce to a total of 17,000. Xcaret Group operates a range of businesses including theme parks, hotels, ferris wheels, catamarans, yachts, and tours.
The new hires are part of a significant expansion in the national tourism industry, and particularly in the Riviera Maya. The majority of the new positions will be based in Playa del Carmen and will span a variety of strategic areas such as room division, food and beverages, maintenance, security, administration, art, and culture.
Recruitment is set to take place in March and April. This will allow the group to bring on board more highly skilled professionals who will contribute to the development of the Xcaret Mexico Hotel. The hotel is set to open an additional 900 rooms this summer, following an investment of over 700 million dollars.
The new employees will help to solidify the company's position as a leading employer in the tourism sector. This will have an indirect impact on over 65,000 families of local, regional, and national suppliers.
In a statement, the Xcaret Group emphasized that this expansion is a reaffirmation of its commitment to a future where tourism is a driver of well-being. It also highlights the company's dedication to promoting Mexican talent and strengthening the shared prosperity of Quintana Roo.
