The Yucatan Government has released a statement addressing the events of the 8M march, which saw clashes between participants and security forces. The state government expressed regret over the confrontations that occurred at Plaza Grande. The International Women's Day march, which took place on Saturday, March 8, started at La Mejorada Park and concluded at Plaza Grande, where the clashes occurred. The women began their protest at 5 PM with a Silent March, which was planned to pass through the Tourist-Gastronomic Corridor on 47th Street and Paseo de Montejo, before reaching the main square.

In response to these events, the Yucatan Government reiterated its full respect for women's rights to free expression and protest. It also emphasized its commitment to the safety of all individuals and public property. The government explained that a security operation was launched during the march on March 8, with the goal of protecting both the protesters and the general public, and ensuring the protest could proceed without major disruptions.

The state government expressed regret that certain actions resulted in confrontations with security forces, whose main objective is to maintain order without resorting to repression. The government also stressed the importance of ongoing dialogue with women's groups and organizations to collaboratively develop effective solutions to valid demands for equality and justice.

Furthermore, the government stated that it will continue to develop public policies that address the root causes of gender violence, and foster spaces for dialogue and consensus. The Yucatan Government reaffirmed its commitment to building a safer, more equal, and fairer Yucatan for all.
