In a video posted on his Facebook account, he stated, "They reconstructed my right eye and right eyelid, fortunately, I didn't lose my sight." Díaz Mena expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support on social media following the accident, which occurred early Wednesday morning as he was returning from a campaign rally in Chemax, Yucatán.
He also confirmed that he underwent surgery on his right eye at a private clinic after sustaining a severe injury from the accident. Thankfully, he did not lose his vision.
