Governor-elect Joaquín Díaz Mena of Yucatán recently presented the first part of his cabinet for the 2024-2030 term. He emphasized the importance of building a team that embodies the values of the Fourth Transformation, with a focus on social justice, honesty, and service to the citizens of Yucatán.
Díaz Mena highlighted that this cabinet is the first in Yucatán's history to be based on parity, consisting of both men and women. Each member was chosen for their strong professional background and commitment to the principles of humanist governance.
"I am honored to present to you the cabinet of the people," Díaz Mena stated. "This government will protect the rights of the majority and defend the vulnerable."
Key appointments include Judith Ortega Canto as Health Secretary, Sisely Burgos Cano as Women's Secretary, and Fátima Perera Salazar as head of the newly transformed Welfare Secretariat, formerly the Social Development Secretariat. Alán Padrón Albornoz will lead the Youth Secretariat. Additionally, Wendy Méndez Naal, the wife of the Governor-elect, will serve as the honorary President of DIF.
